He went to an infamous Topo Chico prison in Monterrey Mexico.
In 2016 46 inmates died at Topo Chico prison after two rival Zetas cartel factions went to war inside the prison and setting fire to the blocks.
In 2011 a prison official was found dismembered inside a box in an abandoned car nearby.
Ruiz Jr was cheered like a local hero by the inmates.
He is soon due to join his training camp to get ready for Ruiz Jr-Joshua 2 fight on December 7th in Saudi Arabia.
He went on a day the prison was hosting a championship boxing tournament so he got to see inmates battle in the ring.
He advised the inmates to get their lives back in order and to follow their dreams.
