VIVO ENERGY PUMPS SHS. 300M IN UPCOMING PEARL OF AFRICA MOTOR RALLY

 The motorsport event powered by Vivo Energy Uganda, the distributor of Shell-branded fuels and lubricants will take place from May 10th to 12th in Jinja, Uganda.

The energy company on Tuesday announced a sponsorship package worth 300 million Ugandan shillings to the Federation of Motor Sports Uganda.

Johan Grobbelaar, Vivo Energy Uganda's Managing Director, expressed their pride at being the title sponsor again.

He highlighted their long-standing partnership as a testament to their unwavering support for Uganda's motorsport community. Through this sponsorship, Vivo Energy aims to empower the dreams of rally drivers and enthusiasts nationwide.

Hon. Jimmy Akena, the President of the Federation of Motorsports Uganda, commended Vivo Energy for their decade-long dedication to the Pearl of Africa Rally. He stated their unwavering support has been instrumental in the sport's success and growth within Uganda.

At the press conference, Vivo Energy unveiled a new addition to their Shell Uganda Rally team: renowned rally driver Jas Mangat.

Mangat, a three-time National Rally Champion and the 2022 Pearl of Africa Rally winner, brings immense experience and skill to the team. The company also confirmed their continued sponsorship of rally ace, Ronald Sebuguzi, for the thirteenth year.

The annual Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally is a major event in the Ugandan motorsport calendar.

With Shell V-Power's increased sponsorship, the event promises to be even more exciting and challenging than ever before.

The Federation of Motorsports Uganda urged motorsport enthusiasts to prepare for an unforgettable weekend filled with adrenaline-fueled action. They also emphasized prioritizing personal safety and adhering to the set rally guidelines and road safety regulations.
