F1: LEWIS HAMILTON MAKES HISTORY BY TAKING THE ITALIAN GP POLE


Lewis Hamilton has made history in Italy as he picked up his 69th pole position and his 6th pole at Monza...
Hamilton has one more pole position over Michael Schumacher...It was a ver tricky race with more than 2 hours of rain delay...

Hamilton was very quick during qualifying but Q1 was stopped after Romain Grosjean aquaplaned and crashed out around the start-finish straight...

Grosjean came out of crash fine but Q1 was stopped for 2 and a half hours...

"Italy I love you! I am so happy to be here, and even though it's Ferrari home land, we have got such great support here even for Mercedes. I really appreciate all the love and to do it here [get the 69th pole] at such a historic circuit and such a beautiful country...I am going to have some pasta and celebrate!" said Hamilton.

Red Bull stepped up their momentum as Max Verstappen finished in 2nd at Monza qualifying followed by teammate Daniel Ricciardo.
