Liberia is on the verge of electing a new leader and ex-soccer star George Weah is leading the polls...
George Weah, a Ballon d'Or winner and FIFA Player of the Year (1995), once played for Chelsea and Manchester City and was coached by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger when he was at Monaco.
Pele named Weah as one of FIFA 100 best players in the world.
Weah is leading 11 out of 15 counties while the votes are still being counted.
The winner needs more than 50% to win the elections.
If no candidate achieves that the 2nd round will be held in November.
Weah's closest rival is the current Vice President Joseph Boakai.
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is on her way out after leading Liberia for 2 terms.
She was Africa's 1st elected female President and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
"We believe that all Liberians are ready for this process. I thank them for participating in this process," said Sirleaf.
