TENNIS: FORMER WIMBLEDON CHAMPION JANA NOVOTNA HAS DIED AT AGE 49

Former Wimbledon Champion, Jana Novotna, has passed away peacefully at age 49...Womens Tennis Association said she "died peacefully, surrounded by her family". 

Novotna won the Grand Slam Wimbledon title in 1998 after beating Natalie Tauziat. 

WTA boss Steve Simon said "Jana was an inspiration both on and off court to anyone who had an opportunity to know her.

"Her star will always shine brightly in the history of WTA. Our condolence and our thoughts are with Jana's family."
