Ward came on with a heavy right followed by a furious shots and that was it...
Kovalev complained that the bout was stopped prematurely whereby some thought Kovalev was ahead...
Kovalev surely won the earlier rounds but Ward picked up pace and eventually landed a hard right that wobbled Kovalev's leg followed by a barrage of shots until ref Tony Weeks stepped in and ended the fight...
Team Kovalev are not hapoy with the decision and they have announced that they will protest the result.
