FRITZ KELLER TO BECOME THE NEXT GERMAN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT

The head of SC Freiburg Fritz Keller has full backing of German clubs to become the next President of the German Football Association...
Keller is the only candidate for election at congress due to take part in September.

Keller has been president (in the past the role was called chairman) of SC Freiburg since 2010.

"I'm only doing it to myself because I love football," said Keller when asked why he went for the post.

Past candidates and presidents were very powerful within the country and also UEFA as well as FIFA.

Kelly was not a likely candidate but the German Football Association has been 'tainted' and now they are trying to clean-up the 'mess'

Although Keller is not as powerful as his predecessors he had a legend godfather.

His godfather was a legend in Germany and his name was Fritz Walter.

Walter was the legendary captain of the 1954 West Germany side at the World Cup who beat Hungary to win the World Cup.

Keller has already submitted reform proposals that the DFB needs in order to clean-up their act.

Keller's life is far more than the football world. He is a winemaker and a restaurateur.

"Fritz Keller is without doubt an extraordinary personality who posesses all the qualities required for the office of the DFB president," said Rainer Koch Vice President of DFB.

"He can bring people together and represent an entire spectrum of German Football, including the interests of professionals and amateur football."
