TENNIS: CORI GAUFF MAKES HISTORY AT WIMBLEDON


Cori Gauff made history by becoming the youngest ever to qualify for the prestigious tournament... 

Since the open era started in1968 Cori  became the youngest ever with 15 years and 122 days to qualify.

"I knew I was the underdog and I was just enjoying it," said Cori. 

"I had no expectations really". 

The Serena Williams inspired 15 year old reached final of  the girls' US Open in 2017 at age 13. 

In 2018 she won the French Open. 

"Serena the reason why I play tennis and why my dad decided to get me a racket," said the teenager. 

"Obviously, I don't care who I play. I'm just happy to be in the draw but I would love to share the court with Serena".
