Ecdysterone is the substance found in spinach that has steroid-like properties.
Freie Universitat of Berlin in Germany has a Pharmaceutical Institute that did a study involving 46 athletes in 10 weeks.
The participants were given 4kg worth of spinach through ecdysterone through capsules and others were given placebos.
The results showed that the spinach boosted the participants 3 times more than the placebo perticipants.
The study had blessings from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)
