Serena made a good comeback after giving birth to her daughter, Alexis Olympia, September 1.
She was absent in action over 14 months and now she's working hard to get her rhythm back in the game.
She suffered after-birth complications as well as blood clots to the lungs which were fatal but recovered well to bounce back into action.
She won the 1st round of the Indian Wells clash with 7-5 6-3 scoreline.
"I'm a little rusty but it doesn't matter," said Serena.
"It definitely wasn't easy but it was good.
Her husband, Alexis Ohanian, was present during the match.
She got a standing ovation after the ended.
