The whole world watched in amazement as he clocked 1:59:40.2. Every kilometer he ran 2:48 to 2:52.

He's wife and kids were waiting for him at the finish line with so much pride and joy.

Kenya stood still while glued to tv sets watching history unfold before their eyes.

East Africa as well as the whole continent of Africa are proud of their son.

Kipchoge is a living legend and the 1:59 INEOS challenge was a way of showing the world what humans can achieve if they work hard.

Kipchoge had 41 pacemakers and an electronic pacecar to show ideal speed.

"That was the best moment of my life," said Kipchoge refering to the moment he got sight of the finish line.

"I felt a lot of pressure yesterday," he admitted. "I received a lot of calls of encouragement from allover the world. The President of Kenya called me. When you receive so many calls from high-profile people, there is pressure."

He said the toughest moment in his life was from the 4:30am wake-up call to the 8:30am start time and after that it was bliss.
