A statement read, "He was a good son, brother, and a good friend to many." "Pat's kindness, positivity, and generosity of spirit made a lasting impression with everyone he met."
Charles Conwell wrote an emotional letter on twitter after the news broke of Day's passing.
"I never meant this to happen to you, all I wanted to do was win."
DiBella Entertainment, is a company owned by promoter Lou DiBella, put up a statement saying, "Patrick Day didn't need to box."
"He came from a good family, he was smart, educated, had good values and had other avenues available to him to earn a living."
The boxing world is pouring many tributes for the fallen boxer.
Eddie Hearn said he was 'Devastated' to hear about the passing of Day.
WBC said 'Patrick Day was always kind, happy and an exceptional good man who was outstandingly passionate about boxing.'
WBO said, 'The WBO family is heartbroken with the news of the passing of Patrick Day.
