BRIGID KOSGEI BREAKS PAULA RADCLIFFE'S MARATHON RECORD

Kenya's Brigid Kosgei has broken a 16 year old record held by Britain's Paula Radcliffe in Chicago...

Brigid clocked 2:14.04 beating the previous record of 2:15.25 set at the 2003 London Marathon. 

She won the London Marathon this year  and became the youngest winner of the event. 

Radciffe's record was the longest-standing in post-war era. 

Ababel Yeshaneh finished second, 6 minutes 47 seconds on the clock. 

Another Ethiopian Gelete Burka finished thrird with a time of 2:20.51
