John McEnroe had 49 wins and now the new record holder is Rafa Nadal with 50 set wins.
Nadal moved into the quarter finals of the Madrid Open with a win over Diego Shcwartzman from Argentina 6-3 6-4.
It was in 1984 when McEnroe set the record with a win at the Madrid Indoor Open title.
