UGO EHIOGU: FORMER ENGLAND DEFENDER PASSED AWAY TODAY


Former England defender and Aston Villa defender Ugo Ehiogu has passed away today after collapsing while coaching at the Tottenham training center Thursday...

He died due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 44...A statement from Tottenham Hotspur said he died in the early hours of Friday...

He was Spurs U-23 coach...


"Words cannot express the shock and sadness that we all feel at the club," said John McDermott (Head of Coaching and Development)...

Ugo Ehiogu had over 200 appearances for Aston Villa between 1991-2000 and then spent 7 years with Middlesbrough...

He also played for West Brom as a center-back as well as Leeds, Rangers and Sheffield United...



He retired in 2009 after winning the League Cup in 1994 and 1996 as well as with Boro in 2004...

He was the co-founder of Dirty Hit music label...The label has the British indie band The 1975...

He married his wife, Gemma, in 2005 and had 2 children, A son Obi Jackson and a daughter Jodie...



Before the Villa Championship game on Sunday the teams and fans will observe a minute's applause and will wear a black armbands...

All Academy matches this weekend have been called off...

Tributes have been pouring in from all-over the world as fans and friends are trying to soak in all that has happened...
