SERIE A HEAVILY CRITICIZED OVER THE USE OF MONKEYS TO FIGHT RACISM | ABSOLUTELY APPALLING


AC Milan and AS Roma have critisied Serie A for using monkey art to fight racism...


Three weeks after Serie A promised to deal with racism they came with an anti-racism campaign that uses monkeys. 

The campaign poster shows 3 monkeys with painted faces. 

"Art can be powerful, but we strongly disagree with the use of monkeys as images in the fight against racism," said AC Milan statement. 

"We were surprised by the lack of consultation." 

AS Roma also came out "surprised". 

We understand the league wants to tackle racism but we don't believe this is the right way to do it." 

"How do you fight racism with something that looks like racism," said former Premier League star Sylvain Distin. 

Anti discriminatory body Fare said it was left "speechless" and the campaign looked like a "sick joke"

Kick it Out campaign said the use of monkeys was "completely inappropriate" 

After being racially abused Lukaku said it showed the game was "going backwards"
