Russia has been banned by World Anti-Doping Agency to participate in all major events in period of 4 years...
The result of the ban means the Russian flag and national anthem will not be at events.
This means Russia wont be resent at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics and the 2022 football World Cup in Qatar.
Athletes who can prove to untainted in the scandal can compete under a neutral flag.
In January investigations were underway on manipulated laboratory data handed down to WADA from the Russian's Anti Doping Agency (RUSADA) rendering them non-compliant.
Rusada were given 21 days to appeal and after the appeal the matter will be forwarded to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)
Sir Craig Reedie, Wada President, said, "For too long, Russia doping has distracted from clean sport. The blatant breach by the Russian authorities of Rusuda's reinstatement conditions demanded a robust response.
"That is exactly what has been delivered.
"Russia was afforded every opportunity to get its house in order and rejoin the global anti-doping community for the good of its athletes and of the integrity of sport, but it chose instead to continue in its stance of deception and denial."
On the other hand Wada Vice-President Linda Helleland says ban "not enough."
"I wanted sanctions that can not be watered down.
"We owe it to the clean athletes to implement the sanctions as strongly as possible."
