Sebastian Vettel beat Valteri Bottas by 0.303 seconds while Red Bull's Max Verstappen was behind Bottas by 0.35 seconds in 4th place.
Stoffel Vandoorne from McLaren-Renault finished 3rd fasted on day 2 of testing.
Carlos Sainz with Renault finished 5th fastest with 1:21.212 on the clock.
Pierre Gasly from Toro Rosso-Honda managed 6th place with 1:21.318 on soft tyres.
"The car is working, we didn't have any problems reliability-wise. In terms of performance, I don't know yet, but in terms of general operation it's been very smooth," said Sebastian Vettel.
