SPORTS CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: REAL MADRID PLAYERS IN QUARANTINE | MCLAREN PULLOUT OF AUSTRALIAN OPEN


Real Madrid players have been placed on quarantine after a member of their Basketball team testes positive...
As a result of Real Madrid being placed in quarantine La Liga has been suspended for at least "two rounds of matches." 

The basketball team shares same facilities as the football team that's why these measures were very important. 

Real are up for a Champions League  game with Manchester City on Tuesday. 

"The recommendation has been made to quarantine both the basketball first team and the football first team, given that the two squads share facilities in Ciudad Real Madrid," a statement from Real said. 

In Formula 1 McLaren has withdrawn from the Australian Grand Prix after a member of the team tested positive. 

The decision to with draw wa taken in "duty of care" to the F1 stakeholders. 

The coronavirus outbreak has been declared a global pandemic and most countries have taken precautions by stopping large gatherings including sports events

"The decision has been taken based on duty of care not only to Mclaren F1 employees and partners, but also to the team's competitors, Formula 1 fans and wider F1 stakeholders," said a statement from McLaren.
