The Italian government has imposed a very strict lock-down across the entire nation after it was affected the most in Europe due to the coronavirus.
Due to chain supply issues Ferrari has decided to shut down its factory.
Until 27 March production would cease said a statement from Ferrari. The F1 team has also suspended their activities. Staff will continue working remotely from home.
"At a time like this my gratitude first and foremost goes to Ferrari's women and men who, with their tremendous commitment over the past few days, have demonstrated the passion and dedication that defines our marque," said Ferrari CEO Louis Camilleri.
"Together our suppliers, they have ensured the companies production. And it is our respect for them, for their piece of mind and those of their families that we have decided on this course of action.
"Our clients and fans are also top of mind for us at this time, as we prepare for a strong restart."
