Mercedes will honour F1 Legend Niki Lauda by permanently keeping the red three-point star on the engine cover and facsimile Niki Lauda signature on the nose of the car...
The red halo as well as those 'tweaks' were adopted in the Monaco Grand Prix in order to pay tribute to the three-time world champion.
Toto Wolff, Mercedes Motorsport chief, said the halo was temporary but the signature and the red star will stay.
"It was nicely done," said Wolff
The red halo was written "Niki we miss you"
Lauda used to wear a red cap to cover scars leftover from a near fatal accident he had at the Nuerburgring circuit in 1976.
That's a nice tribute for a true legend of the sport and we the fans will never forget. God bless Niki
