The world of sports has lost one of its own, a boxer, civil rights fighter, lawyer, and first black President of South Africa, voice for children.
Nelson Mandela, famously known as Madiba, will forever be remembered by the world of sports.
Sepp Blatter was so sad saying,"I have lost a close friend".
Blatter said all matches will face a moment of silence before starting.
Mohamed Ali, The Greatest, said that he is sad after the news of the passing of Madiba.
He said Mandela has taught many of us and he also taught us to forgive one another.
David Beckham said that we have lost someone kind and very strong.
Tiger Woods also remembers Mandela as when he was invited to his residence.
Tiger wont forget that day because Mandela taught him a lot.
