NICOLA PELTZ IS A REAL-LIFE PRINCESS IN PURPLE BALENCIAGA GOWN AT THE KINÉO AWARDS RED CARPET AT THE VENICE FILM FESTIVAL WITH BROOKLYN BECKHAM

Peltz was joined by her husband Brooklyn Beckham.

It was date night on the red carpet for Nicola Peltz and her husband Brooklyn Beckham. The pair attended the Kinéo Awards held during the 2026 Venice Film Festival on Sept. 5. Nicola was honored with a rising star award for her work as an actress, producer, and budding filmmaker.

The “Lola” star was dressed in a look hailing from Balenciaga that transformed her into something out of a fairy tale. The garment was a deep shade of purple, almost eggplant, and featured an asymmetric neckline that draped over a single shoulder, transitioning into a thin midsection with cutouts on either side. A sliver of fabric connected the bodice to a low-rise bottom featuring a fitted waist and voluminous skirt equipped with a train that trailed behind Nicola as she walked.

The designer piece seemed to be made of a mix of tulle and some other opaque fabric that was mottled with darker accents for dimension. A veil was then strategically placed in Nicola’s hair over a bun, made of the same fabric as her dress. The fabric draped beautifully down her back, seemingly melding into her dress to create an ethereal vision. The romantic silhouette, especially in that shade of purple, was eye-catching, certainly a standout fashion moment on the red carpet that night.

Nicola’s hair was styled in a half-up, half-down style. Half of her hair was fixed into a bun at the back of her head, while the rest was left to cascade down her spine, eclipsed under her veil. The focus was placed on her outfit, which meant makeup was minimal, with a focus on clean skin and a flushed complexion. A nude glossy lip rounded out her look.

“Thank you so much for this immense honour. To receive an award at the Venice Film Festival is something I will carry with me for the rest of my career,” Nicola said as she accepted the award, via The Sun. “My family are my everything. My mum, dad, (brothers) Diesel and Brad, and Brooklyn, thank you. You always believe in me. To have your support is the reason I can reach for the stars in the first place.”

LOUIS VUITTON AND SINGER VEHICLE DESIGN JOIN FORCES TO REIMAGINE PORSCHE 911

Louis Vuitton and Singer Vehicle Design have joined forces on two reimagined Porsche 911s, marking the first time the French luxury house has shared billing with another brand on a finished product.

The collaboration started with a relatively small request: Louis Vuitton was brought in to create a dashboard clock. From there, the project expanded to encompass nearly every functional element of two 964-generation 911s, one a 390 hp naturally aspirated coupe and the other a 510 hp turbocharged cabriolet.

The two cars take distinctly different approaches. Jean Arnault helped define the saffron-and-cobalt coupe, which draws on Louis Vuitton’s historic color palette and trunk-making heritage, while Nicolas Ghesquière shaped the white-and-gold cabriolet around the look of classic wooden speedboats. Both come with removable Tambour timepieces, custom luggage, and their own Louis Vuitton capsule collections.

NAOMI OSAKA TURNS WIMBLEDON INTO A CATWALK WITH STUNNING JAPANESE-STYLE OUTFIT

Naomi Osaka continued her tradition at Wimbledon on day three

Naomi Osaka continued her Wimbledon tradition of turning the All England Club into a catwalk on Wednesday morning. The Japanese star strolled onto Court 2 to face Anastasia Gasanova wearing a jacket with flowers on the back, a kimono-style belt wrapped around it and a long tulle train at the back.

The four-time Grand Slam champion donned the attire as she made her way to the net to meet the umpire and her opponent for the coin toss. But Osaka then removed the train and the kimono belt before the warm-up commenced. The jacket was left on her courtside chair when the match got underway.

Osaka wore a white flowing kimono for her first-round win over Elsa Jacquemot on Monday that caught the attention of all at SW 19. The No. 14 seed won 6-1, 7-5 and then explained her fashion choice.

"For me, my Japanese heritage means a lot. They say all white at Wimbledon and I thought it would be really cool to come out in a kimono," Osaka said.

"I just get inspired by a lot of different things, and for me, one of my favorite movies is ‘Kill Bill.’ So I really love Lucy Liu’s character, O-Ren Ishii, and she comes out in this really iconic white kimono. I always tell people I like to be like a video game character sometimes, I don’t want to be myself when I’m playing on the court. And I kind of try to embody her a little."

Osaka has been working with Tokyo-based designer Hana Yagi and finished her round-one outfit with a kanzashi hair ornament and Mikimoto jewelry.

"I like to use fashion as a medium for storytelling," Osaka told British Vogue earlier this year. "Every walk-out is an opportunity to bring people into my creative world. The fact that people care about it and are excited to see what’s next is also pretty cool."

LEAVE NAOMI OSAKA ALONE - HER FASHION SHOW IS EXACTLY WHAT WOMEN'S TENNIS NEEDS

As the 28-year-old sports star comes under fire for another head-turning outfit at the French Open, Lydia Spencer-Elliott argues why her wardrobe should be championed not criticised.

Naomi Osaka knows how to make an entrance. At the Australian Open, the four-time Grand Slam champion, 28, arrived in a mesmerising jellyfish-inspired ensemble (elegant wide-brimmed hat, long white veil), designed by Beyoncé’s regular couturier, Robert Wun.

For this week’s French Open, it was impossible to predict how she’d surpass herself; then she stepped out in a black corset and cascading pleated skirt by Kevin Germanier (beloved by Lady Gaga and Björk), which she promptly shed to reveal a glittering copper tennis dress.

“I actually got a little worried because when the sun hits the dress, it reflects a lot, so I was a little scared the umpire was going to kick me off the court,” Osaka said of the sparkling “Eiffel Tower at night” ensemble.

“I’ve got two backup, normal dresses – thankfully I didn’t have to wear them,” she added. “Sometimes people say athletes are in show business… For me, Grand Slam walk-ons are the only time that I possibly feel like I’m an entertainer,” the tennis pro explained.

Osaka’s opponent, Germany’s Laura Siegemund (whom she beat 6-3 7-6 (7-3) to reach the second round), it’s fair to say, was fuming. “I couldn’t care less,” she told TNT Sports. “I come here to play tennis, not put on a fashion show.” Nevertheless, Siegemund then went on to claim that Osaka’s big outfit reveal had broken time-keeping rules: “Once again, bigger names are treated differently,” she hit out.

So, perhaps, she did care – just a little bit.

Throughout her tennis career, Osaka has been treated differently – rarely for the better. After winning her first-ever Slam against American great Serena Williams at just 20 years old, she broke down in tears of dismay instead of joy. The umpire, Carlos Ramos, had accused Williams of receiving on-court coaching and docked her game, leading Williams to call him a “thief” and later accuse him of sexism.

As Osaka collected her trophy, boos rang around Arthur Ashe Stadium while she wept. “Not only was a game taken from me but a defining, triumphant moment was taken from another player,” Williams later wrote in an essay for Harper’s Bazaar. “My heart broke.”

The incident was all the more gut-wrenching as Williams is Osaka’s icon. This can be seen again in her fashion choices, as she follows in the footsteps of the former World No 1 to serve draw-dropping looks on the court that unapologetically allow her to express herself, when the backwards governance and antiquated confines of the sport, perhaps, won’t. Notably, Osaka faced intense racial abuse after supporting Black Lives Matter in 2020.

Williams has frequently challenged traditional tennis dress codes with pioneering ensembles; her 2018 French Open catsuit, which she said made her feel “like a superhero”, was banned for no other reason than that the French Tennis Federation felt it didn’t “respect the game and the place”. Nevertheless, months later she stepped out at the US Open in a black one-shoulder tennis dress complete with a tutu. "It's easy to play in, kind of aerodynamic,” she said.

The star’s wardrobe has sparked debates around the policing of women’s bodies in sport and the functionality of athletic wear. Many noted at the time that the clothing controversy felt like another reason to slate a Black player in an overwhelmingly white, historically exclusionary, elite sport. A tutu somehow became perceived as a threat to tennis’ status quo.

Notably, few have been up in arms over Aryna Sabalenka wearing £76,000 worth of diamonds and garnets with a sheer Nike super suit at Roland Garros. “I love it,” the Belarusian defended Osaka’s latest ensemble. “She feels confident. That’s the beauty of the fashion world. There’s a space for everything. I love that she’s bringing it on [to] the court.”

Sabalenka shared that she too hoped to one day “come up with something cool” for an Open entrance like Osaka’s.

Elite sportswomen, of course, don’t want to be known or judged for their outfits alone, but – when the coverage of and prime time slots for women’s tennis at tournaments like the French Open still drastically lag behind the men’s game – it also can’t hurt to turn a few heads and garner extra attention using a bit of tulle and some sequins, right?

“I tend to win more when I’m having fun,” Osaka previously told Vogue of her relationship with sport and fashion. So far, so true – and the tennis season is just getting started.

ARMANI'S DEATH LEAVES MANY IN THE SPORTS WORLD TO PONDER AND PRAISE HIS LEGACY

Pat Riley first met Giorgio Armani in Milan in 1982, when the Italian designer told the then up-and-coming coach that he could make him beautiful suits.

Armani delivered. Riley was hooked.

“A navy blue Gable Classic,” Riley, now president of the Miami Heat, recalled Friday. “I have never worn anything else since then.”

Riley — a trendsetter in bringing high-end fashion to NBA sidelines — spent almost the entirety of his Hall of Fame coaching career wearing Armani, and he is one of many voices from around the sports world to offer memories in response to the iconic designer's passing. Armani died Thursday at the age of 91.

At the European basketball championships, Italy's national team played Thursday just hours after the news was announced. Much of Italy coach Gianmarco Pozzecco's pregame remarks before his squad faced Cyprus revolved not around the opponent, but Armani.

“This suit?” Pozzecco said afterward, tugging on the lapel of his jacket. “It's Armani.”

Like Riley, Pozzecco knew the designer. To wear the Armani brand, he said, is not only a source of personal pride — but one that is shared by all Italians.

Italy played Thursday with a black band on their uniforms to mourn Armani's death.

“Everybody in Italy loves him and I said to the players before the game that we have to play in the memory of Mr. Armani,” Pozzecco said. “I knew him personally. ... He makes all Italians feel proud, because of him.”

NBA star Russell Westbrook, a designer himself and one of the most fashion-savvy players in the league, paid tribute to Armani on Friday in his periodic newsletter. Westbrook often discusses fashion in his newsletters, sharing some trends that he's particularly fond of at a given time.

“Mr. Armani never stopped innovating, rewriting the rules of the suit for both men and women, and making his looks the most striking thing on any red carpet,” Westbrook wrote. “He really helped redefine elegance with timeless tailoring and understated luxury. In honor of him, stick to clean lines in order to elevate your look — elevating is what Armani always did.”

Armani was a regular attendee at basketball and soccer games all over Europe, had ties to some top clubs in both sports, had been an Olympic torchbearer and even was involved in outfitting Italian Olympic teams — including the uniforms they'll wear at the upcoming Milan-Cortina Games this coming winter.

He also had a passion for the Special Olympics, which paid tribute with a statement saying, “Giorgio Armani understood how the worlds of fashion and sport often intersected.”

“From designing uniforms for our Special Olympics athletes and featuring them on holiday cards, through to his fundraising leadership at our 2025 Winter World Games in Italy, Giorgio supported Special Olympics for over four decades,” the organization said. “His impact on our movement will last for generations.”

Riley called him “an absolute giant.”

“A true talent and once in a generation person that will never be equaled,” Riley wrote in a statement from himself and his wife, Chris. “Giorgio has inspired so many in the fashion world and has left big footprints to follow. What a legacy.

DOECHII AND NIKE TEAM UP TO SILENCE CRITICS WITH BOLD NEW AD

In a powerful new Nike ad, Doechii confronts 'industry plant' accusations by showcasing her impressive achievements.

Doechii, a rising star in hip-hop, continues to break barriers and cement her place in the industry. Recently, she earned a co-sign from Lauryn Hill, reinforcing her influence and artistry. After turning heads at Paris Fashion Week 2025, she returned to the U.S. to front a major Nike campaign. The ad directly addresses the “industry plant” rumors that have followed her rise, using an extensive receipt to list her accomplishments. Nike backed her message with the caption, “Too official to ever need validating, but we printed Doechii’s receipt to remind you anyway.”

The campaign positions her as a self-made artist while highlighting her success in music, fashion, and culture. As Nike has done with past collaborators, this partnership could be just the beginning. Given Doechii’s growing fashion presence, it is possible that a sneaker or apparel collaboration could be in the works. Whether it is a signature sneaker, a special-edition colorway, or a curated clothing line, Doechii’s unique aesthetic would make for an exciting addition to Nike’s roster.

Beyond the campaign, Doechii’s success speaks for itself. At the 2025 Grammy Awards, she became only the third woman in history to win Best Rap Album. This milestone underscores her impact and the recognition she has earned. Despite the skepticism from some critics, Doechii embraces the narratives surrounding her rise, taking them as further proof of her influence. She has shown no hesitation in using her platform to push back against doubters while continuing to deliver chart-topping music. Now, her partnership with Nike adds another layer to her brand, aligning her with a company known for celebrating resilience and authenticity.

If her collaboration with Nike expands, it would be no surprise to see Doechii’s influence extend beyond music and into sneaker and streetwear culture. Whether she debuts a new shoe, an exclusive collection, or even a full campaign highlighting women in hip-hop, this is a partnership with plenty of potential. Nike has a history of elevating cultural icons, and Doechii’s rise fits perfectly into that narrative. Whatever comes next, it is clear that she is more than just an artist.

The collection consists of various clothing pieces, like half zips, crew necks, joggers, pleated skirts, and woven shirts.

The three-time Grand Slam champion donned the new collection and rocked the blue and black fit. Sabalenka sported white shade sunglasses and a classic black fanny pack which complimented her attire. Sabalenka earned praise for her look on the internet.

Notably, Naomi Osaka-owned talent agency company, ‘Evolve,’ manages Sabalenka. They posted Sabalenka’s stunning pictures in the new outfit which gained a lot of traction.

After missing out on a 'three-peat' at the 2025 Australian Open, Sabalenka is most likely to play the Middle Eastern swing in Qatar before Indian Wells and Miami Open in March. Sabalenka has been playing the Dubai duty-free tennis championships since 2017 and has not missed a single season. But she is yet to win the tournament in her eight attempts. Her best outing at the event remains three quarterfinal finishes. The World No.1 will aim to change that this time around.

The last time Sabalenka played at Doha was in 2022, till then she had played it three times in a row and even won the title in her debut season at the tournament in 2020. She had defeated Petra Kvitova in the final in straight sets. The 2025 Australian Open runner-up is expected to participate in the tournament and come back after three years.

The Qatar TotalEnergies Open 2025 begins on February 9 and Dubai championship begins on February 16. The Polish superstar, Iga Swiatek will look to defend her title in Doha, as her race to regain the World No.1 position will continue.
