49ERS OWNER JED YORK PLEADS NO CONTEST TO 2 MISDEMEANOR CHARGES IN OHIO

San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was arrested over the weekend in Ohio and pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools.

York was arrested Sunday in East Palestine, Ohio, and was released after posting a $5,000 bond. He was sentenced to one day in jail for both offenses to be served concurrently and was credited with one day served when he pleaded no contest Monday morning.

He also was fined $1,150.

Court records show that York initially was charged with engaging in prostitution, but prosecutors amended that to disorderly conduct.

Records also show that York had a cellphone returned to him and that $160 that was seized was to be given to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force as part of the plea agreement. York also completed an online course.

The 49ers and the NFL didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

The 46-year-old York took over day-to-day control of the 49ers from his parents in 2008. He became the team’s principal owner in 2024. After some initial struggles under York’s leadership, the team has been a consistent contender since hiring coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch in 2017.

The Niners have made the Super Bowl three times under York’s leadership, losing in the 2012 season under coach Jim Harbaugh and the 2019 and ’23 seasons under Shanahan and Lynch.

York also oversaw the building of Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The team moved from San Francisco to the new stadium in 2014. The stadium has hosted two Super Bowls, a World Cup and a College Football Playoff title game.

LIONS CB TERRION ARNOLD EXPECTED TO FACE SERIOUS NFL PUNISHMENT AFTER ARREST

Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold is facing the prospect of life in prison after being arrested on a series of felony charges, and the former first-round pick could also face harsh discipline from the NFL in the meantime.

Arnold surrendered to authorities in Florida after facing an arrest warrant connected to an alleged robbery and kidnapping in Tampa. The Florida state attorney’s office said in a statement that Arnold faces “multiple felony charges which carry a potential sentence of up to life in prison” for allegedly orchestrating a kidnapping in retaliation for an alleged theft at a property he owned.

While Arnold has maintained his innocence and the team issued a statement avoiding comment on the specifics, recent cases indicate that he could face a long suspension from the league.

Terrion Arnold Could Be Away From Lions Indefinitely

Several other NFL players who faced felony charges have been handed long suspensions by the NFL, including six games for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice after he pleaded guilty to charges related to a street-racing incident. Running back Kareem Hunt was suspended for eight games for an assault that was recorded on video.

While the NFL often waits until the conclusion of criminal proceedings to issue punishment, Arnold could face more immediate action. The Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office said in a statement that it had filed a pretrial motion to keep him in jail without bond until trial, with no court date in sight.

“Our office will file a pretrial detention motion to argue that Arnold remain behind bars until trial,” the statement read. “The date for that hearing has not yet been scheduled. Arnold’s codefendants are all currently behind bars in connection with the crime.”

That could prompt the NFL to put him on the commissioner’s exempt list, essentially putting him on paid leave until the trial takes place.

The Lions did not indicate if he faced any action from the team, releasing a statement with few details.

“We are aware of the legal situation regarding Terrion Arnold,” a spokesperson for the team said, via USA Today. “We will not comment at this time out of respect for the ongoing legal process.”

Arnold’s name had first surfaced in court documents earlier this year, when the alleged co-conspirators were arrested, but Lions head coach Dan Campbell said at the annual league meeting that the cornerback was not involved.

“We got all the information that says he wasn’t involved. That’s what we know, that’s all we know, and that’s really all I can say,” Campbell said, via NBC Sports. “As far as I know it’s not a big deal. It seems like he still wasn’t involved with this.”

Terrion Arnold Faces Serious Allegations

As USA Today reported, the charges against Arnold stem from an alleged theft from an Airbnb that he owned.

“Arnold allegedly began orchestrating his retaliation with others within hours of giving his theft report to the police, according to an investigation cited in the press release from the state attorney’s office,” the report noted.

Police claim that Arnold orchestrated the kidnapping and robbery in retaliation for the alleged theft.

“Arnold is accused of coordinating and directing … codefendants to lure three men to an apartment where the victims were robbed, beaten, and held at gunpoint,” the release from the state attorney’s office said.

Harden was caught with a handgun in his vehicle, and it was allegedly in plain sight and not being carried in a holster. It’s a misdemeanor charge.

EAGLES' NOLAN SMITH REPORTEDLY ARRESTED FOR SPEEDING, RECKLESS DRIVING IN GEORGIA

Nolan Smith, the Eagles' fourth-year edge defender, reportedly was driving over 130 MPH on Friday, leading to his arrest.

Philadelphia Eagles edge defender Nolan Smith was arrested last Friday for reckless driving and speeding. A mugshot of Smith first appeared at The Georgia Gazette, a site that appears to be a roundup of arrest records. Local CBS affiliate WMAZ-TV confirmed the arrest.

PhillyVoice has not yet been able to confirm the speed that Smith was driving, but reports online suggest he was either going 135 or 137 MPH in a 70 MPH zone.

There have been a number of recent incidents in which NFL players were cited for excessive speeding. 

In 2023, Vikings WR Jordan Addison was cited for driving 140 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.

Browns DE Myles Garrett has repeatedly been cited for excessive speeding, including a 2025 citation for driving 100 MPH in a 60 MPH zone.

Browns QB Shedeur Sanders also has multiple speeding incidents, including a 2025 citation for driving 101 MPH in a 60 MPH zone.

None of the above players were suspended by the NFL. It's also worth noting that Jalen Carter – Smith's teammate both with the Eagles and at Georgia – pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and racing in 2023. He received a year of probation, plus a small fine and community service.

Smith had a quiet rookie season in 2023 and his second season in 2024 got off to a slow start. However, the light seemed to come on for him after the Week 5 bye in 2024. In the 15 games he played from October on, Smith had 10.5 sacks, a pair of forced fumbles, and he did a lot of the dirty work in the defense like taking on pulling guards and burying them. He also led the NFL with four postseason sacks.

Smith entered 2025 as a budding star, and the Eagles' top edge defender. However, he did not have the season that he or the Eagles were hoping for, as he missed five games after aggravating a triceps injury that he suffered in the previous year's Super Bowl. He was also on a pitch count upon his return.

Smith will presumably be healthy to begin the 2026 season, and the Eagles will hope he picks up where he left off in 2024. The promise he showed in 2024 was enough for the Eagles to exercise his fifth-year option for 2027, at a cost of just under $14 million.

In what could turn out to be one of the biggest scandals in sports history, Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups has reportedly been arrested in relation to a federal sports betting probe.

Early on Thursday morning, reports emerged that Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier was picked up by federal officials regarding his involvement in illegal sports betting on NBA games. The investigation has been going on since the summer, and Detroit Pistons guard Malik Beasley was linked to the inquiry until authorities revealed he was no longer part of the investigation.

However, soon after the news about Rozier’s arrest came a bombshell. Current Trail Blazers head coach Chauncy Billups has also been arrested over allegations of illegal bets on NBA games. Interestingly enough, ABC News is reporting that his arrest is connected with a separate FBI investigation, and this one actually has worrisome links to the mafia.

That is the only information that has been leaked regarding his arrest. However, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York, and FBI Director Kash Patel are scheduled to hold a press conference to unveil further information on the case.

The five-time NBA All-Star and one-time champion is obviously innocent until proven guilty. However, if a court does find wrongdoing, it will be one of the biggest sports scandals of all time. But where does it rank among the most egregious in sports history?

Obviously, the worst of the worst is the 1919 “Black Sox” scandal when eight Chicago White Sox players purposely threw games during that year’s World Series. Pete Rose is the greatest pure hitter in MLB history, but he was banned for life — until this year — after it was found he had bet on games he was involved in as manager of the Cincinnati Reds.

After winning shockingly winning the 2006 Tour de France, former Lance Armstrong teammate Floyd Landis was found to have been doping his way to the championship. In hindsight, it wasn’t too surprising since Armstrong also doped himself into becoming a cycling legend.

Arguably, the worst in NBA history was when a federal investigation found that veteran referee Tim Donaghy used his influence on games to alter scores for illegal sports betting purposes.

Pro athletes being involved in illegal betting is only shocking because they don’t need to, since the majority of them are millionaires. While Donaghy’s offenses were stunning, it does make sense because referees aren’t wealthy, and they can have such a huge but hard-to-notice influence on games. Billups, who made around $100 million during his career and is paid well now, being involved really is bewildering.

More information will be revealed soon, but if the NBA coach was involved in a scenario to alter games, and it was connected to organized crime, it would be a top-five scandal in sports history.

The Olympic gold medal sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson has said she plans to seek help following her 27 July arrest, which stemmed from a physical confrontation at an airport with her boyfriend, the US sprinter Christian Coleman.

“I’m taking this time to not only see myself but get myself a certain level of help that overall is going to reflect who I truly am in my heart and my spirit and not allowing this moment – but accepting this moment – to be more,” Richardson said in an Instagram post Monday night.

Richardson, 25, won silver in the 100m at the Paris Olympics and was on the gold medal-winning 4x100 relay team.

She was arrested after officers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport reviewed security video that showed her appearing to grab Coleman’s backpack and shove him toward a wall while he was attempting to move through the terminal.

Richardson posted a one-line comment to Twitter on the afternoon of the arrest that read in all caps: “I WILL ALWAYS GET BACK UP!!!”

In her first public comments on the matter, she said on Monday night that she appreciated being held accountable.

“More than anything, definitely a lot of self-reflection, a lot of understanding of not only putting myself in a compromising situation with somebody that I have a deep care and appreciation for as well, is something that – holding myself accountable,” Richardson said in the video that appeared on her Instagram story.

“So my only thing is, I want to be more – not just only for myself, for my family, my fans. I overly appreciate y’all supporting me and showing love and even holding me accountable to being my best self. So more than anything, I refused to run away … but face everything that comes to me head-on because everything on the other side is greater but you gotta go through in order to get there.”

Richardson issued an apology to Coleman that read in part, “I apologize to Christian. He came into my life and gave me more than a relationship but a greater understanding of unconditional love from what I’ve experienced in my past. Due to my past trauma and pain, I was blind and blocked off to not only receive it but give it. I love him and to him I can’t apologize enough.“

As security footage of the incident became public, Coleman told the Athletic in a video interview: “She’s a human being, and a great person. She has a lot of things going on, a lot of emotions and forces going on inside of her that not only I can’t understand, but nobody can. She’s one of one. And I’m one of one, too.

“I feel like it was just a sucky situation all around, I don’t feel as if she should have been arrested.”

BOY ARRESTED OVER SOCIAL MEDIA ABUSE SENT TO ARSENAL STAR KAI HAVERTZ AND PREGNANT WIFE AFTER MANCHESTER UNITED DEFEAT

Police have arrested a teenage boy in connection with social media abuse sent to Arsenal forward Kai Havertz and his pregnant wife earlier this month, following the club’s exit to Manchester United in the FA Cup.

The forward, 25, missed a chance to win the game in normal time and then had his penalty saved by United's Altay Bayindir in the shootout on January 12.

His partner, Sophia – who is expecting her first child with the Germany international – reposted two abusive messages she had received on social media platform Instagram.

Arsenal then tasked data technology company Signify with determining the identity of the abusers and a police investigation was launched, the Mirror reports.

A Hertfordshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "A 17-year-old boy from St Albans has been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications. He has been bailed while enquiries continue."

Sophia described one message as 'shocking' and urged her half-a-million followers to be 'more respectful'.

"For anyone to think it's okay to write something like this is so shocking to me. I hope you are so ashamed of yourself," Sophia wrote online as she shared the messages..

Speaking prior to his side's Premier League clash against Tottenham at the Emirates last week, manager Mikel Arteta warned of 'terrible consequences' if action was not taken.

A woman, who alleged that a Premier League footballer made non-consensual sex tapes with her, has spoken out on how she was treated 'like dirt'.

The player was reportedly arrested on the training pitch earlier this week. A report by The Sun detailed an incident where the team-mates of the player in question were left shocked when two uniformed police officers walked onto the pitch to interrupt a session.

Police intervened after the footballer was accused of voyeurism, and the anonymous woman has now opened up on the details of her alleged experience with the player.

She explained that the millionaire football ace met her through social media, before inviting her to his mansion and ordering an Uber taxi to her house to aid her travels, according to The Sun.

He then allegedly poured the woman large mixed spirit drinks and wanted to film a sex tape with her, to which she refused. She claimed that they went on to have consensual sex, but he kept texting someone throughout.

'He didn't drink himself, but kept pouring me large glasses of vodka and lemonade,' she told The Sun.

'And after a while he said, "Let me give you a tour of my house".

'When we got to his bedroom, he just stripped off. We had sex together but he was texting on his phone and then he started speaking to someone on it.

'I was upset and angry at his disrespect and rudeness. I felt he treated me like dirt. I felt violated and humiliated by his actions. He needs to have respect for women. No one should treat women like that.'

She told police she had either refused to record a sex tape, or take part in a threesome. The woman was also reportedly told to leave the footballer's house moments after their encounter had finished.

The star, who is said to be an international, was taken away from a training session earlier this week at 11am, before being questioned for six hours. Two phones were also seized by police, with the devices investigated for footage and video recordings.

The report went onto claim that the footballer's colleagues initially thought the whole thing was a practical joke.

A source told The Sun: 'A lot of stars initially thought it was a prank when two uniformed officers strode on to the pitches during training. Everyone was in disbelief.

'Players were open-mouthed. No one was sure what was going on.' 

However, after being questioned for six hours, the star was released with no further action taken.

He subsequently returned to training on Thursday and could feature in his side's FA Cup third round fixture this weekend.

A police spokesperson said: 'A man in his 20s was arrested at an address, on suspicion of voyeurism. It was determined no further action would be taken due to insufficient evidence.'

The club in question refused to comment when contacted by The Sun.

LAZIO FAN ARRESTED FOR HITLER SALUTE AS SUPPORTERS SING FASCIST SONGS IN MUNICH BEER HALL

 MUNICH (AP) — One Italian fan among about 100 Lazio soccer supporters who sang fascist songs in the beer hall where Adolf Hitler founded the Nazi party has been arrested and fined for giving a Hitler salute.

Munich police spokesman Michael Marienwald told The Associated Press on Tuesday that an 18-year-old from Italy was issued a four-figure fine after police were called to the Hofbräuhaus beer hall late Monday.

Marienwald said the police were looking at further action against more individuals after a large group of Lazio fans were filmed in the beer hall singing about the Blackshirts, the paramilitary wing of Italy’s National Fascist Party.

In a video published by the La Repubblica newspaper, the fans finished the song by chanting “Duce! Duce! Duce!” in reference to former Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, an ally of Hitler. The fans appeared to be giving fascist salutes.

Hitler founded the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, better known as the Nazi party, with a speech in the same beer hall in 1920.

The Lazio fans were in Munich for their team’s Champions League game against Bayern Munich on Tuesday. Lazio won the first leg of the last-16 tie 1-0 and was bidding to reach the quarterfinals.

PATRIOT'S JACK JONES ARRESTED AT AIRPORT, CHARGES INCLUDE CARRYING A LOADED FIREARM

New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones was arrested Friday at Boston's Logan International Airport for allegedly attempting to bring two firearms on a plane, according to Lindsey Thorpe of Boston 25 News.

Police were called to Logan Airport's Terminal B on Friday night where they found two firearms in Jones' carry-on luggage, Massachusetts State Police said.

Jones is facing a number of charges, including possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of an airport and possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card. He is also being charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm and possession of a large-capacity feeding device.

GERVONTA DAVIS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

 

"Boxing star Gervonta Davis was taken into custody on Thursday following a court hearing and transported to Baltimore City Central Booking Intake Facility, a Baltimore City Sheriff's Office spokeswoman told ESPN.

Davis has been serving a 90-day house arrest sentence at the home of his trainer, Calvin Ford, punishment that was meted out last month after the fighter pleaded guilty to four counts stemming from a hit-and-run crash in November 2020 that injured four people, including a pregnant woman.
