VANESSA BRYANT SUES HELICOPTER FIRM OVER DEATH OF KOBE AND OTHERS

Widow of the late US basketball legend Kobe Bryant has filed a lawsuit against the owner of helicopter the  firm that operated the Sirkosky S-76B chopper that went down and killed Kobe and his daughter GiGi as well as other passengers...

In the lawsuit, Vanessa says the pilot was negligent to fly in poor weather.

The suit was filled shortly before Kobe's memorial service in Los Angeles. The chopper went down on the foggy morning of 26th January.

Island Express Helicopters as well as the pilot, Ara George Zobayan, had a "duty to use that degree of care that an ordinary careful and prudent pilot would use under the same or similar circumstances."

So far the suit alleges that the pilot did not access weather data before taking off and also after taking off the pilot did not abandon the flight despite treacherous weather.

The suit goes on to say that the chopper company authorised the flight "with full knowledge that the subject helicopter was flying into unsafe weather conditions."

The company has not operated since the tragic accident.
