MotoGP test rider Michele Pirro has survived a terrible during the 2nd testing session at Mugello...
The 31 year-old rider took to the straight just 20 minutes into his 2nd practice session before skidding into the gravel.
Pirro approached turn 1 and braked the Ducati and after that the rear wheel lifted up projecting the rider up.
Pirro hit the ground hard making him unconscious for a short time.
He was taken to the circuit medical center for further checks.
Paolo Ciabatti who is the Director of Sporting at Ducati told Spanish TV that Pirro is better but could not recall the accident.
"I spoke a few minutes ago with [Ducati team manager] Davide Tarddozi, who is in the medical center. Apparently the situation is less serious than it looked before.
"Michele recognises people and can talk. He doesn't remember anything.
"He can move his legs and arms, but he could have problems with the shoulder, so they are going to check in the hospital in Florence with an MRI to make sure nothing is broken."
