JOHANNESBURG: 2 PEOPLE DEAD DURING KAIZER CHIEFS VS. ORLANDO PIRATES PRE-SEASON GAME


A sad time for fans in Johannesburg as 2 people lost their lives during a Soweto derby match...Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates were battling inside the FNB stadium that holds 87,000 fans...

Formerly the stadium was known as the Soccer City...It was rebuilt for the 2010 World Cup and hosted the final between Spain and Netherlands...

Soccer City was where Nelson Mandela held his 1st speech after being released frrom prison in 1990 and also it is where his memorial was held in 1993...

Safety official Michael Sun confirmed the deaths but the game let to continue...

Kaizer Chiefs won the game 1-0 in-front of more than 87,000 jubilant fans...Bernard Parker's early goal gave Chiefs the Black Label Championship.
