The EFL is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Kenny Jackett, who has died at the age of 64.
Kenny managed over 750 games in the EFL, achieving promotions at the helm of Wolves, Millwall and Swansea.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Kenny’s family and friends at this difficult time.

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ relegation from Premier League is now official - confirmed not by anything they did themselves, but by a 0-0 draw between West Ham United and Crystal Palace on Monday night. That result took the last bit of suspense out of it. Wolves, stuck on 17 points after 33 games under Rob Edwards, can’t mathematically claw their way out.

The drop has been coming for months - Monday just made it unavoidable.
It’s been a season that never really got off the ground. Wolves didn’t win a league game until January, and even a slight uptick since - including surprise results against Aston Villa and Liverpool - always felt like too little, too late. The early damage was already done.
Wolves interim executive Nathan Shi stressed the club would respond with conviction after a troubling campaign.
"Confirmation of our relegation is a difficult moment for everyone connected to Wolves," he said in a statement. "While this is a deeply disappointing outcome, work has been underway since my arrival in December to ensure we are ready to respond with clarity and conviction.
"We are clear on what needs to improve, and our focus is now on strengthening the club, building momentum, and creating a team our supporters can believe in. We know what is required and will approach the months ahead with purpose.
"You deserve better, and giving you a club you can genuinely be proud of is what drives everything we do from this point forward."

Wolves have managed just three wins this season, with five games still to play. They have conceded the second-most goals in the league (61) and are the only team yet to reach 30 - stuck on just 24.
Wolves were last relegated from the Premier League during the 2011-12 campaign. It took them six seasons before they returned to England's top flight.

Furious David Moyes described the decision to give Michael Keane a red card for hair-pulling as ‘ridiculous’. But the Everton manager did admit he was unhappy with Jack Grealish for following Keane to the dressing-room after collecting two yellow cards for dissent in the space of a few moments.
Young referee Thomas Kirk was sent to the video monitor by VAR Chris Kavanagh after Keane had challenged Tolu Arokodare late in the second half of the 1-1 draw with Wolves at Hill Dickinson Stadium. And as Keane appeared to tug Arokodare’s hair, Kirk decided he had no option but to dismiss the Everton centre-half, who had given his team a first half lead.
But Moyes fumed: “It is not violent, it is not forceful and it is not deliberate. So, all of those things I have said mean it shouldn’t have been a red card. I think it was a really poor decision to send him to the screen in the first place. (Marc) Cucurella got his hair pulled - violent conduct, a deliberate action, no problem with that.
“But this was in the game, on a ball coming up, and unless you have played the game, you might not understand. I have been a centre-half and there is no way I am jumping to out-jump a big centre forward and think .. ‘oh, by the way, I am going to out-jump him and, at the same time, I am going to pull his hair’
“I don’t know anyone on the planet who is good enough to think that way when they are jumping up. I thought it was a ridiculous decision by the referee but more by VAR. I thought the ridiculous bit came from VAR.
“If anyone grows their hair a bit longer, they have a chance of getting it pulled. Crazy. It was a ridiculous decision. Everybody was frustrated, everybody could not believe it.”
Moyes himself was so frustrated that he was booked by Kirk but the Everton manager was still annoyed with Grealish who was booked for dissent and was then dismissed for sarcastically applauding a Kirk decision. And when Moyes was asked if Grealish had been unprofessional and if he would be having words with the on-loan Manchester City man, he curtly replied: “Yes, I agree - and I already have done.”
Although Moyes is furious about the Keane decision, he was unsure whether the club would appeal against it, even though they now face being without their defender for three games. Grealish will miss one game for his two yellow cards.
Moyes, though, did admit he was not pleased with Everton’s performance prior to the Keane dismissal, which came in the 83rd minute - seven minutes before Grealish was sent off.
“Not great,” he said after a Mateus Mane strike had earned Wolves a point. “It was always going to be a difficult game but we could have gone two up before half-time. But we never really felt as though we got a grip of it.”

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim said his side "lacked quality" to break down a Wolves team without a Premier League win all season in the latest blow to their chances of Champions League football next season. Wolves secured just their third point of the campaign and snapped a 12-game losing streak as Ladislav Krejci's header cancelled out Joshua Zirkzee's deflected opener in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford. United were missing captain Bruno Fernandes, Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo through injury, while Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo are absent due to the Africa Cup of Nations.
"We have a lack of fluidity and then lack of quality and then lack of creation of chances, and then we suffer a goal from a set-piece," said Amorim.
"These details are important to win these games in difficult moments."
United remain two points outside the top four in sixth.
But they could have been well on course for a return to European football's top table next season had they not failed to win four of their last five home games.
Amorim, though, remains confident his side will end the season strongly once they have their key players back fit and available.
"I think we are in one situation that you have a lot of players out in the same time.
"Of course when you play Casemiro and (Manuel) Ugarte in the middle, you know that is different to when you have Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount or Bruno, that is normal. We just need to recover our players, the players from AFCON to return and then the fluidity is going to be different.
"I'm really confident when we recover all the players that we are going to be a strong team, there is no doubt in my mind."

Jeff Shi has stepped down as executive chairman of Wolves after a chaotic period on and off the pitch.
Despite overseeing some of the club’s most successful results of modern times, Wolves’ alarming plunge to the bottom of the Premier League has seen fans turn definitively against Shi and owners Fosun.
Nathan Shi - who is no relation to Jeff Shi - will step in as interim executive chairman. Jeff Shi said: ‘I took the keys to this chair with humility; today, I step aside with a heart full of gratitude.
'It has been an honour and a privilege to work alongside our leadership team, players, coaches, staff and – above all – our fans. Together, we have transformed the club into a global force, battling at the highest level.
'I would like to thank Fosun and the board for their trust, and every supporter for making Molineux shine. My seat may change, but my heart will still roar for this club every single game.
'I give my full support to the new management team and wish them every success in driving Wolves to even greater heights.'
With Jeff Shi as Fosun’s representative at Wolves, the club twice finished seventh in the top flight, as well as reaching the FA Cup semi-finals and the Europa League quarter-finals.
But this season has been dreadful. Summer recruitment was shambolic and under new boss Rob Edwards, Wolves need a miracle to avoid the drop after taking only two points from their first 16 games.
In protest at Fosun, a number of supporters did not enter the ground until 15 minutes into the recent home defeat by Manchester United.
Wolves face Brentford on Saturday with Nathan Shi expected to attend.
Nathan said: ‘I am privileged to have the opportunity to lead a club whose achievements, both on and off the pitch, are founded on collective effort, from our players and coaching staff to our employees, supporters, the Wolverhampton Council and the wider community. I am grateful for the trust the board has placed in me.’
Wolves have always stressed that Fosun have no plans to sell the club and are interested only in external investment.
But such a significant change as this will inevitably raise further questions about the direction in which the club is heading.
As for Nathan Shi, an internet search lists him as a representative of Club Med, the holiday company that is part of Fosun’s portfolio. Yet the LinkedIn page containing this information appears no longer to exist.
Nathan is also believed to have worked as Fosun chairman Guo Guangchang’s executive assistant.

The youngster, who has spent this season with Macclesfield FC in the National League North, lost his life following a car accident last night.
The attacker first joined Wolves at the age of seven, entering at the pre-academy stage, and progressed through the system to sign a professional contract with the club in January 2023.
During his time with Wolves McLeod worked closely with now academy director Jon Hunter-Barrett and former coach Wolves, leading to him representing England at youth level.
In September 2024 McLeod’s time with Wolves came to an end and he went on to represent Rushall Olympic and Stourbridge, before joining Macclesfield in the summer.
He played for the Silkmen seven times this season, scoring three goals, and was on the bench against Bedford Town on Tuesday, before he tragically passed away when travelling home later that night.
Ethan’s younger brother Conor is currently in Wolves' under-21 squad and the whole club will be providing care and support to him and his family.
Hunter-Barrett said: “We’re absolutely devastated as a club and academy with the news of Ethan’s passing. He was in our academy programme for a long time, and his brother Conor is on our books now, so we’re incredibly sad for Conor and his family.
“We’re respecting his family’s privacy at this moment in time, but we’ll support them in any way possible moving forward. We’ll be there for them and Conor, because they’re a massive part of our club.
“Nobody will have a bad word to say about Ethan. He had a warm heart and was incredibly caring and considerate. He was a talented young man, who got on well socially with everyone in the academy, staff and players, because he was such a loving character.
“Ethan was a talented footballer. He had injuries towards the end of his time here, but as a young player he developed early and progressed to representing England at youth level and played up the age groups at Wolves.
“Our thoughts go out to Conor, Ethan’s family and friends, and everyone at Macclesfield FC, because they’ll be devastated with the tragic news too.”
A minute’s silence will be held prior to Wolves’ Premier League clash with Brentford at Molineux this weekend.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot was left fuming that Virgil van Dijk had a goal disallowed at Manchester City - and claimed their opponents had a goal given in a similar scenario last season at Wolves.
On that occasion their goal stood with then Wolves boss Gary O'Neil hinting at "something in the subconscious around decision-making" when it came to giving goals for the Premier League's biggest sides.
Van Dijk thought he'd headed home an equaliser for the Reds at the Etihad in the first-half on Sunday. The Dutchman reeled away before a VAR checked began, with his goal subsequently chalked off after Andy Robertson was deemed to be in an offside position.
The Liverpool left-back was stood beyond the last City defender, leading VAR to determine that he had interfered with Gianluigi Donnarumma. City, though, were on the right end of a similar decision last season when John Stones scored deep into stoppage time, despite Bernardo Silva being close to goalkeeper Jose Sa.
Slot was quick to bring that up as he bemoaned the referee's decision. He said: "Immediately after the game, someone showed me the goal, that what the same referee allowed City against Wolves last season. So it took the linesman 13 seconds to raise his flag to say it’s offside. So there was clearly communication."
On that occasion VAR, who awarded the 95th minute goal, claimed that "Bernardo Silva wasn't in the line of vision and had no impact on the goalkeeper". O'Neil, though, wasn't sold and questioned whether the side nearer the bottom had again been on the wrong end of the decision.
He said last season: "Without even knowing it, are you more likely to give it to Manchester City than Wolves? If I had to upset someone in a street and there was a little guy and a big guy, I'd upset the little guy. Nothing against little guys, but you know what I mean? Like, there is something in there and they definitely don't do it on purpose.

"I know they're 100 per cent honest and they're doing the best job they can and I respect them fully. But maybe, maybe there's something that just edges in in that direction when it's really tight."
Van Dijk's disallowed goal on Sunday came shortly before Nico Gonzalez doubled City's lead - his shot deflecting in off the Liverpool defender. Gary Neville was among those stunned that the Dutchman had his effort chalked off by VAR.
He said on co-commentary: “I think he is outside the eyeline of the goalkeeper. I think [Arne] Slot is right to be fuming. The goalkeeper is not getting anywhere near that. He had a clear line of sight.”"

Manchester United are poised to sign Matheus Cunha after triggering the £62.5m release clause in the Wolves forward’s contract. United have agreed to split the fee in three payments across the next two years.
Wolves rejected United’s attempt to stagger the payment across five years but now the Brazilian is set to become Ruben Amorim’s first summer signing after a hugely disappointing season.
The signing is expected to be a formality from here and he could be the first of several summer arrivals for United. He has already agreed personal terms and will undergo a medical in the coming days. Amorim is also keen on signing the Ipswich forward Liam Delap, who has a release clause of £30m after relegation from the Premier League.
Cunha has impressed across his two and a half years at Wolves, for whom he scored 15 goals this season to pull them clear of relegation trouble. He joined from RB Leipzig in January 2023, initially on loan, before completing a £43m permanent move.
He signed a new contract on deadline day in February on the basis that his new deal would contain a release clause amid interest from Arsenal, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.
Meanwhile, United are expected to be open to selling Alejandro Garnacho if they receive an offer that matches their valuation of about £60m. United are also keen to offload Marcus Rashford, who spent the second half of the season on loan at Aston Villa, and Antony, who has shone on loan at Conference League finalists Real Betis.
