This momentous win puts him on the record books as the best ever Formula 1 driver.
"It's not just another win," said the champion after his debrief with his team.
"I'm really over this past hour or so trying to contemplate and realise what it is we have done and what we have been able to achieve. And I would say for the next couple of days that is where my mind is going to be.
"Just wow. It is hard to find to find the right words and be able to compute exactly, but it is definitely a special one."
Lewis praised Michael Schumacher as "an icon and legend of the sport."
Hamilton has one more feat to reach and that is seven world F1 titles. Michael Schumacher holds that record.
Growing up Hamilton would watch Michael Schumacher and he wanted to be like Schumacher and now his dream came true.
The Schumacher family is happy for Lewis Hamilton's achievements. It is so unfortunate Michael is still not well but he also would have been very proud of Hamilton.
