Josep Maria Bartomeu steps down before no-confidence vote at FC Barcelona.
Bartomeu's last speech as a Barca president said that the Catalan giants have agreed to join the European Super Cup.
Barca as also agreed to the new FIFA-led Club World Cup format.
"I can announce some extraordinary news," said Bartomeu.
"Yesterday we accepted a proposal to participate in a future Super League Cup, which would guarantee the future financial financial sustainability of the club. And we've accepted the future CWC format."
Bartomeu was criticised be the La Liga president Javier Tebas. He said it would bring ruin to the club and such a move was "weak and imaginary".
Lionel Messi was not happy with the outgoing president for sometime leading to his almost-exit but now Messi will be happy that Bartomeu is out.
