Coronavirus is wrecking havoc in the sports world as events are being cancelled around the world and now the prestigious Indian Wells Tournament has been cancelled...
Officials in California said it was "too great a risk" to hold a 'large gathering of that size."
"We are prepared to hold it on another date and will explore the option," said Tommy Haas the tournament director.
The tournament includes ATP as well as WTA. Most tennis aces have arrived in California ready for the Monday event.
Usually the tournament draws about 400,000 people and it is located about 130 miles east of Los Angeles.
A public health emergency has been declared by medics in that area after a coronavirus case appeared.
Italy has suspended all sports in the country due to coronavirus outbreak.
