PARIS 2024 SURPRISED AT REPORTS OF INVESTIGATION INTO CHIEF'S RENUMERATED

 Paris 2024 Olympics Organisers expressed surprise at media reports on Tuesday that the committee's President Tony Estanguet was allegedly facing a judicial investigation into his pay.

Paris 2024 compliance and public affairs director Blandine Sorbe told reporters that the organising committee had not been contacted by the financial prosecutor's office.

"We wish to remind people that the Organising Committee President’s remuneration is subject to a strict framework," a statement released by Paris 2024 said.

"The remuneration of the President of the Organising Committee is very strictly regulated."

The financial prosecutor's office declined immediate comment.

Car traffic during the Paris 2024 Olympics will be restricted with pre-registration necessary to enter several zones, although the maximum is being done to preserve the residents' daily lives, the French capital's chief of police said on Wednesday.

"We want to guarantee the highest level of security while safeguarding the continuity of the economical and private lives," Paris police chief Laurent Nunez told a press conference before unveiling a map of restricted areas for the duration of the July 26-Aug. 11 Games.

To a lesser extent, the Paralympics will also have restrictions.

"The plan is not final, we will now enter a phase of consultation to get feedback," Nunez added.

"We are not saying that people should leave Paris. There are a lot of spaces that are not concerned by these measures. And pedestrians are allowed everywhere."

Organisers of the Paris 2024 Olympics said on Thursday their headquarters had been raided Wednesday by the country's national financial prosecutor and a judicial source said the raid, which also targeted event management firms, were part of an ongoing probe into alleged favoritism.
