WYDAD ATHLETIC & FORMER YOUNG AFRICANS STAR STEPHANE AZIZ KI HAS LOST HIS SON

The world of football has been shrouded in heavy clouds following a report by renowned writer Micky Jnr on the heartbreaking news of the death of the son of Wydad Athletic Club star, Stephane Aziz Ki. This news has shocked many fans across Africa, highlighting the other side of players' lives when they face heavy family trials. Aziz Ki, who is a football icon on the continent, is going through a time no parent would wish to endure, and his club Wydad along with football stakeholders have begun offering him comfort.

This tragedy comes at a time when Aziz Ki continues to serve Wydad at a high level in Morocco, and now he must set aside his on-field duties to mourn his son. Condolences have poured in from every corner, led by the rallying cry of #DimaWydad, as people wish him peace and resilience along with all his loved ones affected by this blow. It's time for the football community to unite and show love to this maestro who once brought joy to many Yanga SC fans here in Tanzania.

May God give strength to Aziz Ki's family during this difficult time, and may He rest that child in a peaceful place. This event reminds us that behind the skill and many goals we see on the pitch, there are human beings with feelings who need our comfort when they pass through the valleys of the shadow of death.

YOUNG AFRICANS (YANGA) STAR CONFIRMS THREE PSL APROACHES

Young Africans SC star Stephane Aziz Ki has confirmed he received three approaches from South African clubs.

The Burkina Faso international agreed to extend his stay with the Tanzania Premier League champions by a further two seasons amidst widespread interest in his services.

Clubs in Morocco, Egypt and notably the big three in South Africa, Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and  Kaizer Chiefs have been linked with moves for his services.

“Even after the game [against Mamelodi Sundowns] there was like three clubs, three teams from South Africa, they came straight to me but what I said was that I never finished my job with Young Africans,” Aziz Ki when asked by iDiski Times about PSL offers.

“For me it’s like one project between me and the team, I want to go far with this team, for me [the project] is not finished, I have to come back to work and then go further with this team.

“I know these teams, so many clubs here [in South Africa] came to me but I need to finish my job here at Yanga.”

Aziz Ki featured in the Mpumalanga Premier’s Cup opener on Saturday afternoon in their 2-1 defeat to Bundesliga side FC Augsburg at Mbombela Stadium.

REF DAHANE BEIDA FROM MAURITANIA AND VAR 'ROBBED' YOUNG AFRICANS A CLEAR GOAL | CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Dahane Beida from Mauritania is the most hated person in Tanzania after denying Yanga a clear goal against Mamelodi Sundowns in their CAF Champions League second leg quarter-final match in Pretoria on Friday.

Mamelodi scrapped to advance to the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League, getting the better of Young Africans in a match they clearly lost.

They beat Young Africans 3-2 in penalties at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, after both teams couldn't find the back of the net over two legs that started in Dar es Salam on Saturday and ended in Pretoria on Friday evening.

Young Africans'Aziz Ki scored with a lightning strike just before the hour mark, the shot hit the crossbar and bounced inside the line.

Television replays showed that the ball crossed the line, but referee Dahana Beida – with the guidance of the video assistant referee – ruled that the ball didn't cross the back of the net, much to the frustration of all Tanzanians.

Beida didn't even bother to reach for the VAR  to check the ball for himself, with the message relayed to him via his earpiece.
