TOPLINE Usher will take the stage during the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show in February, the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced Sunday morning.
KEY FACTS
The game will be February 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, and will air on CBS.
Usher will follow Rihanna, who headlined the show last year.
NFL’s head of music Seth Dudowsky called Usher “an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape,” in the announcement.
BIG NUMBER
18. That’s how many top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 Usher has had during his career, including “U Got It Bad” and “Yeah!” feat Lil Jon and Ludacris, according to Billboard. He has also had four No. 1 albums.
SURPRISING FACT
Usher isn’t a stranger to the Halftime stage. In 2011, he was a guest in the Black Eyed Peas’ performance.
KEY BACKGROUND
This is the fifth year the NFL has partnered with Roc Nation—Jay-Z’s entertainment agency—to put on the Halftime show, and the second year Apple Music has been involved. Usher has released eight studio albums throughout his 30-year career, the latest of which Hard II Love, was released in 2016. Usher has been doing a residency in Las Vegas since last July, and recently extended it through December.
