Simba Sports Club, a very prominent club in Tanzania, has lost a patron of the club and a Board Director Zacharia Hans Poppe.
Hans Poppe passed away in Dar es Salaam at he Aga Khan Hospital where he was undergoing COVID-19 treatment for two weeks.
For many years he has served at the club as the chairman of the sports registration committee as well as Tanzania Football Federation’s Legal, Ethics and Players’ status committee member.
Tanzania Football Federation’s President Wallace Kiria said, “He was one of our committee members and supported our football programs. We join his family in this difficult mourning period.”
Kiria went on to say the Federation will continue to honour Hans Poppe’s contribution to sports development.
