Former France and PSG player Jean-Pierre has passed away after being in coma for 39 years at the age of 73.
He was a victim of a medical malpractice during administration of anaesthesia when undergoing a knee surgery that resulted in a cardiac arrest and brain damage.
He went into a coma and never recovered from it ever since in March 1982.
Adam spent 15 months in the hospital and there after was being taken care of by his wife Bernadette, but never regained consciousness.
The Senegalese-born PSG defender played for his club from 1977 to 1979 and won 22 caps for his adopted country France.
He also played for Nice before joining the Paris St-German. He clocked 145 appearances for Nice. His first club was Nimes where he appeared in 84.
In PSG’s statement said Adam’s “joie de vivre, charisma and experience commanded respect.”
Nice will also pay tribute to the fallen star on September 19 during their home match against Monaco.
