Canelo has won world titles in four different weight divisions.
He recently beat British boxing star Callum Smith in style in December.
Canelo is one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world and some fans consider him the 'best'. He has lost only one fight in 57 bouts.
"Avni Yildirim is a good boxer and we will put and exciting fight," said the world champ.
"I'm very glad we are able to bring this event to Miami, a short distance from where my hero, Muhammad Ali, trained. "
Yildirim has a record of 21 wins in 23 bouts. He lost to American Anthony Dirrell and British star Chris Eubank Jr.
