James DeGale was the bookmakers favourite with 1-100 odds but failed to retain the IBF belt.
The fight was very even up to the 5th round whereby Truax decided to lift up the bar and go for DeGale.
The champ faced a barrage of body shots followed by an uppercut with a ramrod right as the time was ticking.
The final scorecard was 114-114 115-112 116-112.
