Brawn will strengthen the Pramac leadership as an advisor to team director Paolo Campinoti

The Pramac Racing MotoGP team has announced it has signed Ross Brawn onto its board of directors.

In this role, Brawn will act as a strategic advisor to owner and team director Paolo Campinoti, bringing extensive experience from the Formula 1 world championship.

Brawn’s career in motorsport has spanned more than four decades, during which he has contributed to a total of 22 world titles – 11 apiece in the constructors’ and drivers’ standings. He left the Mercedes team in 2013, before taking on a management role within the F1 entity from 2017 to 2022.

“His appointment reflects a shared competitive trajectory and an approach that aligns with Pramac Racing’s position in MotoGP.

“This addition further strengthens the company’s organizational structure, which continues its development in the premier category of motorcycle racing,” the team explained in a statement.

“I am very proud to welcome Ross to Pramac Racing,” said Campinoti. “Beyond his extraordinary career and achievements in Formula 1, Ross is a person with whom I have shared a friendship and a relationship of great respect for many years. I believe that his vision, knowledge and winning mentality will contribute in a valuable way to the continued growth and development of Pramac Racing.”

“I am pleased to join the board of directors of Pramac Racing Limited as a non-executive member,” Brawn added. “Motorsport has always been about people, teamwork and continuous improvement, and I look forward to supporting Paolo and the team, as well as contributing my experience wherever it may be useful.

“Pramac has built an impressive organization with great spirit and ambition, and I am excited to be part of its future.”

MARTIN WINS DRAMATIC HOME SPANISH GP SPRINT

Reuters

Jorge Martin of Pramac Racing won sprint in front of adoring home fans at a crash-filled Spanish GP to extend his lead at the top of the championship, as reigning MotoGP champion Francesco Bagnaia's Saturday went from bad to worse after a crash.

Spanish 19-year-old rookie Pedro Acosta continued his stunning debut season with Red Bull GasGas Tech3 to secure a second-place finish, with Yamaha' Fabio Quartararo also capitalizing on crashes to grab points to come third.

"Hopefully we can enjoy today because winning here in Jerez is amazing, and I'm really, really happy," Martin said.

Quartararo put on a gritty performance at the Circuito de Jerez, which witnessed as many as nine crashes, to finish third after starting 23rd on the grid.

"The track was really tricky, of course, many crashes in the front, but I managed to get the first podium of the year on the sprint," Quartararo said.

"Thanks to all the fans to be here and hopefully tomorrow we can make a great race, at least to enjoy like today."

Brad Binder of KTM got off to a flying start as he passed pole-sitter and six-times MotoGP champion Marc Marquez but was involved in a crash on turn one, resulting in Bagnaia and VR46 Racing's Marco Bezzecchi crashing out.

Ducati's Bagnaia had finished seventh in qualifying earlier on Saturday.

It was all heartbreak for home hero Marquez, who looked on course to win his first sprint but crashed out of the lead, managing to come seventh.

MOTOGP LEADER MARTIN CASTS DOUBT OVER PRAMAC FUTURE

Reuters

MotoGP championship leader Jorge Martin said that he could leave Pramac Racing and that he is more attached to manufacturer Ducati than the team.

Martin, who finished second last year after an intense battle with eventual champion Francesco Bagnaia, is top of the rider's standings with 60 points following his win at last month's Portuguese Grand Prix.

A move away from Pramac for the Spanish rider would deal a huge blow to the Italian team, who are reportedly eyeing a change from Ducati to Yamaha machines in 2025.

Asked if he would be happy staying at Pramac in the event of a switch to Yamaha's YZR-M1 bikes, Martin told reporters: "Well, at the moment I am more attached to Ducati than with Pramac.

"It has been like this for all my MotoGP career. Everybody knows what my priority is," added Martin, speaking ahead of this weekend's Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

"Let's wait because it is still early but I hope to move to a factory team. Even if Pramac changes, I think, I won't stay here."

MARTIN HOLDS OFF WOUNDED ITALIANS TO SEAL SAN MARINO GRAND PRIX

Reuters

Pramac Racing's Jorge Martin led the San Marino Grand Prix in Misano Adriatico from start to finish on Sunday to complete a second sprint and race double of the season and cut Francesco Bagnaia's championship lead to 36 points.

The Spaniard finished 1.350 seconds ahead of Marco Bezzecchi of VR46 Racing, who was hampered by a wrist injury he suffered at the Catalan Grand Prix.

Ducati's MotoGP world champion Bagnaia, who had his leg run over in a separate crash last week, finished third.

Bagnaia is top of the riders' standings with 283 points, with Martin (247) in second and Bezzecchi (218) in third.

After his sprint and race double this weekend and a third-placed finish in Catalunya, Martin has reduced Bagnaia's lead by 30 points in just two weeks.

MARTIN PILES UP PRESSURE ON BAGNAIA WITH GERMAN GP WINP

Reuters

Spaniard Jorge Martin won the German Grand Prix for Pramac Racing on Sunday after a thrilling duel with Ducati's reigning MotoGP champion Francesco Bagnaia that reignited the title battle.

The pair crossed the line 0.064 of a second apart, their Ducatis so close that they touched on the penultimate lap as Italian Bagnaia threw everything at his rival in a bid to get back in front.

Martin's French team mate Johann Zarco completed the podium at the Sachsenring circuit, after KTM's Brad Binder crashed out of third on lap 19, as Ducati riders filled the top five places and eight of the top nine.
