NEW YORK YANKEE'S' AARON BOONE MAKES AARON JUDGE STATEMENT BEFORE ROOKIES GAMES

The New York Yankees finally activated star outfielder Aaron Judge from the injured list ahead of Tuesday night’s game against the Colorado Rockies at Yankee Stadium.

Judge had been on the injured list since early June due to a right rib stress fracture. He returned from the IL without going on a rehab assignment.

Before Tuesday’s game against the Rockies, Yankees manager Aaron Boone commented on Judge’s return from the IL.

Via Talkin’ Yanks on X: Aaron Boone says Yankees fans should expect Aaron Judge to be eased back in and be subbed out early in some games before playing a full nine innings.

Since Judge didn’t go on a rehab assignment, it appears he will be essentially rehabbing with the big-league team.

It makes sense why the Yankees prefer to have Judge back as soon as possible, even if it means he can’t play all nine innings right away.

As it stands, New York has just a two-game lead over Boston for the top American League Wild Card spot. Assuming the top two Wild Card teams end up being the Yankees and Red Sox, the top seed between the two AL East rivals will host the other in a best-of-three Wild Card series in the postseason.

Also, the Yankees are just four games behind the Tampa Bay Rays for first place in the American League East. While New York most likely won’t overtake that first-place spot, a strong finish to the season could lead to the Yankees reclaiming the division lead.

Essentially, the Yankees need all the help they can get over the final month of the season. Even if Judge cannot play full games right away, having his bat in the lineup could lead to several more wins for the Yankees, which could prove vital at the end of the season.

Before landing on the injured list, Judge slashed .248/.375/.533 with 17 home runs and 38 RBI over 59 games this season.

The Yankees have won six of their last 20 games. They are coming off a 2-1 series loss to the San Diego Padres.

Game 1 of the series between New York and Colorado is slated to begin at 7:05 p.m. EDT on Tuesday.

The New York Yankees made a sweet gesture for Charlie Kirk hours after the Trump ally and MAGA commentator was fatally shot in Utah

The New York Yankees made a sweet gesture for Charlie Kirk hours after the Trump ally and MAGA commentator was fatally shot at a Utah University event on Wednesday. Just before their game against the Detroit Tigers, the Aaron Boone-led side held a moment of silence for Kirk.

‘Remembering Charlie Kirk," a message along with the 31-year-old’s photo was displayed on the big screen at Yankee Stadium. This comes hours after President Donald Trump announced Kirk's passing, further ordering flags to be flown at half-staff till Sunday.

Social media users praised the Yankees for their gesture. “Let that sink in...the most liberal state...well done Yankees,” one person wrote on X, platform formerly known as Twitter.

“Well done Yankees. Senseless killing - purely because of political views. What a sad state of affairs. 😔” another person added.

Charlie Kirk fatally shot at UVU

Kirk was shot and killed on Wednesday at a Utah college event in what the governor called a political assassination carried out from a rooftop. A person of interest was in custody, officials said.

“This is a dark day for our state. It’s a tragic day for our nation," said Utah Gov. Spencer Cox. "I want to be very clear this is a political assassination.”

Authorities are yet to identify the suspect. No motive or charges have been released. Videos on social media showed Charlie Kirk answering questions before a single shot rang out. The 31-year-old reached up with his hand as blood gushed from his neck.

His death was announced on social media by Trump.

“No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” Trump posted on his Truth Social account.

Utah Valley University said the campus was immediately evacuated and remained closed. Classes were canceled until further notice.

“The attack on Charlie Kirk is disgusting, vile, and reprehensible,” Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who last March hosted Kirk on his podcast, posted on X.

“The murder of Charlie Kirk breaks my heart. My deepest sympathies are with his wife, two young children, and friends,” said Gabrielle Giffords, the former Democratic congresswoman who was wounded in a 2011 shooting in her Arizona district.

Astros outfielder Taylor Trammell hit a stand-up double Thursday night during the ninth inning of the game between Houston and the New York Yankees. Shortly thereafter, Yankees manager Aaron Boone asked umpires to inspect Trammell’s bat. The umpires ended up confiscating the bat without imposing any other form of penalty, leaving many, including Trammell, confused.

Taylor Trammell responds

“It’s actually ridiculous. I have no idea what really happened,” Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reported Taylor Trammell said after the game.

“I’ve had that bat since I’ve been here. I’ve had it for a long time. I usually take BP with it. I use it in games, I use it in (Triple-A Sugar Land), use it every time I need. The only thing I just don’t have a gloss finish on my bat. It’s matte. Paint wears down. That’s what happened.

“I just got word they thought my bat was shaved down too much. To be honest, I have no idea how you have shave down a bat. I don’t know what it is. I feel kind of defensive right now, more so a test of my character of like I’m going to willingly do that. Just kind of lost on that thing, and if anybody knows me knows I’m never going to cheat any turns or anything like that. I have no idea. That’s baffling to me that it was even checked. They didn’t like it. Sorry. I used it the first at-bat and it wasn’t a problem. I struck out and it wasn’t a problem then.”

Aaron Boone explained why he wanted Taylor Trammell’s bat to be inspected after the game. He said the Yankees noticed some discoloration on the bat and just wanted it checked.

“It’s just something we noticed this series and asked the league about. Yeah, you’re not allowed to do anything to your bat. And I’m not saying he was. We noticed it and the league thought it was maybe illegal too. So I wanted to at least ask about it,” Boone said, adding, “The discoloration was on the label, like, I don’t know if it was just natural or if it was sand, I don’t know. I don’t want to accuse Taylor. I’m not saying anything untowards or whatever. We noticed it though on video while we were here and we actually mentioned it to the league and they said, ‘No, that looks like an illegal bat.’ So that was it.”

Astros manager responds

Astros manager Joe Espada said Taylor Trammell’s bat was being sent to the league office to be checked out.

“The bat was worn down a little bit,” Espada said. “He uses that bat all the time and I guess they thought it was an illegal bat. So the league wants to take a look at the bat. I thought it was… whatever.”

Whatever indeed. Taylor Trammell is batting .208 this year and possess a career batting average of .177. So if he is using a cheater bat, he really needs to get himself a better one.
