"UNACCEPTABLE" - JAKE PAUL BANS BOXING STAR DROM ALL MVP EVENTS AFTER BACKSTAGE ALTERCATION

Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions have confirmed the ban in an official statement.

Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions has banned a five-weight world champion from all events after an incident at their debut MMA event on Netflix on Saturday.

Ronda Rousey submitted Gina Carano within 15 seconds in her final ever MMA fight at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

Mike Perry defeated Nate Diaz, while Francis Ngannou was also back in MMA action during the stacked card.

However the event was somewhat overshadowed after Claressa Shields appeared slap fellow boxer Alycia Baumgardner, who is signed to MVP.

The two rivals became embroiled in a fiery exchange, with footage showing Shields striking Baumgardner in a private backstage area as security intervened.

On Monday, MVP, the promotion Paul founded, issued a statement on the incident and confirmed that Shields will not be able to attend any events they put on until further notice.

Claressa Shields has been banned from all MVP events after slapping Alycia Baumgardner at the Ronda Rousey fight 😳

Alycia says she’s also taking legal action

MVP branded Shields' behaviour "unacceptable" but praised Baumgardner for not escalating the situation any further.

"Most Valuable Promotions is aware of the incident during MVP's Rousey vs Carano event on Saturday night involving physical contact by Claressa Shields toward Alycia Baumgardner," the MVP statement read.

MVP maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for hostile, threatening, or aggressive behavior toward fighters, staff, media, or guests at any of our events.

"Physical altercations outside the ring or cage are unacceptable in any MVP environment.

"MVP does not condone, tolerate, or accept Claressa Shields’ behavior in that setting. And it reflects poorly on MVP and women’s sports, which we have worked tirelessly to uplift.

"Effective immediately, Claressa Shields is banned from all MVP events until further notice.

“There is a time and a place for fighter tension and banter. But to physically attack a fellow athlete while there as a guest inside a private VIP area is unacceptable.

“MVP would like to thank venue security for their swift response in addressing and de-escalating the situation and appreciate Alycia Baumgardner not retaliating and further amplifying the situation.

"We remain committed to maintaining a safe, respectful and professional environment for all participants and attendees at our events and will continue to enforce these standards without exception."

Alycia Baumgardner also put out her own statement on the matter. Image: Getty

Shields, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and the only female boxer in history to have held all four major world titles, is undefeated with a record of 18-0.

She and Baumgardner have never fought despite previous negotiations but Shields has accused her of using performance-enhancing drugs and slammed her performances in the ring.

They also had an April 2024 altercation when Shields smacked Baumgardner's hand and they were involved in an intense verbal confrontation.

Claressa Shields could face legal action for incident

Baumgardner has also responded to the controversy with a lengthy statement where she accused the self-proclaimed 'GWOAT' of "physical assault without provocation" and said the situation will be "handled legally and professionally".

The undisputed junior lightweight champion also provided a character assassination of Shields, who she said "continues to embarrass women's sports" with her conduct.

"When your purpose is to elevate, there will always be people who attempt to pull you down to the level from which they operate," she wrote on X.

"The situation that occurred on Saturday was unprovoked and entirely consistent with the individual involved. While attending Most Valuable Promotions' inaugural MMA event as a guest, I was physically assaulted without provocation. This behavior follows a continued pattern from someone who has publicly celebrated other fighters' brain injuries, initiated one-sided altercations at press conferences, and consistently displayed hostility toward other women. That conduct is unacceptable and should not be tolerated in any professional sport.

"This behavior reflects a repeated pattern of hostility, chaos, and attention-seeking conduct that continues to embarrass women's sports.

"This situation has been and will continue to be handled legally and professionally.

"My focus remains far beyond individuals who lack discipline, professionalism, and self-control — inside or outside the ring.

"I have spent my career representing myself, my family, and the sport of boxing with class, integrity, and respect. I will continue to do so.

"I want to congratulate Most Valuable Promotions and Netflix on an event that continues to raise the ceiling for women's combat sports, and I look forward to continuing to be a positive force in the evolution of the sport."

JAKE PAUL REGISTERS SIXTH-ROUND TKO VICTORY OVER MIKE PERRY

Jake Paul scored a sixth-round TKO victory over bare-knuckle fighter Mike Perry on Saturday in Tampa, Florida, in an eight-round cruiserweight boxing match.

With the win, Paul maintained his Nov. 15 showdown with the 58-year-old Mike Tyson that was originally scheduled for this night. Paul, a social-media star turned boxer, floored Perry three times before the referee halted the bout at 1:12 of Round 6.

"He's tough as nails ... but I just hit too hard and he took a lot of damage," Paul said. "Mike Tyson, you're next. ... It's anyone, anytime, anyplace."

Paul, who was a -475 favorite, as per ESPN BET, said he was sick leading up to the fight and that his knuckle was "basically broken."

Perry, 32, is the latest former UFC fighter to fall to Paul. Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) also defeated Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz and Ben Askren. Paul, 27, was noticeably bigger and enjoyed a three-inch height advantage. Perry (0-2) of Orlando, Florida, fights at 175 pounds in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

Paul, of Cleveland, scored a flash knockdown in the opening round with a chopping right hand. He controlled the action from range with his superior jab and footwork.

A jab set up a right hand that dropped Perry 30 seconds into Round 2. Perry rebounded with a strong Round 3 and opened up a cut over Paul's left eye. But by Round 4, it was Paul who once again dominated the exchanges. He rocked Perry into the ropes with combinations on several more occasions before the finishing sequence.

"You did a great job, you were way too fast for me and I couldn't adjust," Perry said. " ... He's not sitting there waiting to be hit like me."

Perry's lone previous boxing match was a fourth-round KO loss to journeyman Kenneth McNeil in May 2015. Perry made his UFC debut one year later. His MMA record is 14-8. All eight of his defeats took place in the UFC (he had 14 fights total in the Octagon and never challenged for the title.)

Perry's BKFC record is 5-0 and his last fight was in April.

Paul, meanwhile, will move onto an eight-round heavyweight bout with Tyson on Nov. 15 in Arlington, Texas, where they'll wear 14-ounce gloves.

Tyson withdrew from the marquee event -- it will be streamed on Netflix -- after he suffered an ulcer flare-up on a flight in May.

Saturday's win was Paul's second fight of 2024. He scored a first-round KO of journeyman Ryan Bourland in March in Puerto Rico.

"In two years I will be the cruiserweight champion of the f---ing world," Paul said. "I'm way sharper, cleaner. I think he hit me with like one shot tonight. ... It's back to the drawing board and I'm going to just keep getting better."

Serrano scores TKO 2, moves onto Taylor rematch

Amanda Serrano scored a second-round TKO victory vs. the overmatched Stevie Morgan in the junior welterweight co-feature to set up a Nov. 15 rematch with Katie Taylor.

Serrano, a former seven-division champion, landed at will against Morgan, who was fighting on the top level for the first time. Puerto Rico's Serrano (47-2-1, 31 KOs) stunned Tampa's Morgan (14-2, 13 KOs) on several occasions and teed off on her fellow 35-year-old until the referee stepped in.

"I think these girls mistake my kindness for weakness," said Serrano, ESPN's No. 3 pound-for-pound boxer. " ... If you not on my level, that's what happens. ... I know she didn't have the experience, I know this might have been a little too much for her."

Serrano was fighting for the first time since October, when she outpointed Danila Ramos. Serrano suffered an allergic eye reaction to hair braiding gel that scrapped her Puerto Rico homecoming main event in March.

Serrano now moves onto the rematch with Taylor for the undisputed junior welterweight championship. They met in April 2022 at New York's Madison Square Garden in the biggest fight in women's boxing history.

Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) won that fight by split decision to retain the undisputed lightweight championship. The rematch was originally scheduled for May 2023 in Dublin before Serrano suffered an injury.

Taylor, a 35-year-old Irishwoman, is ESPN's No. 3 pound-for-pound boxer.

"Can't wait to go in there with you once again," Serrano said. " ... This time it's going to be a lot different."

JAKE PAUL RANTS ABOUT DANA WHITE, MMA FIGHTERS: "THEY'VE BEEN TRYING TO ASSASSINATE ME"

Jake Paul shoved Mike Perry during a face-off at their weigh-in Friday, then went on a rant against UFC president Dana White and mixed martial arts fighters, saying "they've been trying to assassinate me" and that they "don't want me in this sport."

Paul’s outburst started with a shove of Perry.

“He flew like six feet,’’ Paul said during an interview with Ariel Helwani on stage at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. “But look, Dana White said that he's going to give (Perry) a UFC contract if he could knock me out. Well, guess what, Dana? You can rip up the (expletive) contract because I'm going to (expletive) up Mike Perry. Anyone you send at me, any one of your MMA fighters is getting (expletive) up.

“They've been trying to assassinate me. They don't want me in this sport. They hate that I run this sport, but when you try to assassinate a guy like me, it only makes me bigger. I'm on a mission from God, a mission from God, a servant of God to save this sport. And that's exactly what I will keep doing. Keep on winning, keep on fighting.

Paul has fought four MMA fighters — Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Ben Askren — and defeated them all.

Perry, who also competed in the UFC before joining the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in 2021, shoved Paul back during the weigh-in. Several security guards then pulled Perry away from Paul.

“They working hard to protect him, bro,’’ Perry said, referring to Paul. “But tomorrow night in the ring, when it's just me and him, no protection. He going down.

“You've seen how hard those big guys had to work to get me back. I was pushing through the (men). Moving all of they (expletive). That's like a thousand pounds of pressure. That's called 'Platinum Pressure.' I'm putting it on him tomorrow night.’’

Perry's trainer James "JT" Taylor told USA TODAY Sports he didn't know anything about a potential contract offer coming from White should Perry win. Spokespeople for the UFC did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the matter left via voicemail and text.

Jake Paul weigh-in

"Platinum" Mike Perry, also nicknamed the "King of Violence," weighed in at 196.6 pounds. He got knocked out in 2015 in his only pro boxing match but is 5-0 in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

Paul, who as a pro boxer is 9-1 with six knockouts, weighed in at 200 pounds – the maximum allowed for the cruiserweight fight.

Words were exchanged before the shoves.

“Why are you nervous?’’ Paul said. “I can see it in your eyes.”

Replied Perry, “I’m excited.’’

Perry indicated he wasn’t worried about the weigh-in showdown.

“You can have all this,’’ Perry said. “I want the ring tomorrow. That's all I want.’’

Replied Paul, “You're going to eat the ring tomorrow. Face first.’’
