ANTHONY DELAYS MANCHESTER UTD TO ADDRESS ASSAULT ALLEGATIONS

Antony will not immediately return to Manchester United while the Brazil striker addresses assault allegations against him, the Premier League club said on Sunday.

"Manchester United acknowledges the allegations made against Antony," the club said in a brief statement.

"Players who have not participated in international matches are due back in training on Monday. However, it has been agreed with Antony that he will delay his return until further notice in order to address the allegations."

Brazil's forward Antony has been withdrawn from the squad for their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Peru following assault allegations, the country's football confederation (CBF) said in a statement on Monday.

The decision was taken after Brazilian media outlet UOL published allegations from Antony's ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin accusing him of physical assault.

Antony has denied any wrongdoing.

Accusations of Domestic Violence Against Manchester United Winger Antony

Gabriela Cavallin has accused Manchester United winger Antony of domestic violence in a string of violent incidents. On Monday 5 June, Cavallin filed a police report in Sao Paulo which contained accusations of assault, bodily injury and threatening behaviour by the Brazil international. In an interview with Record TV in Brazil, Cavallin has now spoken out on several of the alleged incidents.
