The Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League staged a world first Grand Final at Yas Marina Circuit where 6 fully driverless racecars competed head to head in a milestone event for artificial intelligence and robotics.
Germany’s TUM Autonomous Motorsport team from the Technical University of Munich won the championship title.
Early in the race, Italy’s Unimore closed the gap from pole position and overtook TUM at Turn 6 before a sustained high speed duel began.
Both teams recorded speeds above 155 miles per hour during the contest as their autonomous systems executed aggressive race strategies.
The event featured 11 international teams, $2.25 million prize pool and a Human vs AI demonstration run, highlighting rapid progress in autonomous racing since the league’s first season.
