Iga Swiatek has won the Wimbledon women’s singles title for the first time, crushing opponent Amanda Anisimova in the most one-sided Wimbledon final for 114 years.

Anisimova, playing in her first grand slam showpiece, failed to win a single game, with Swiatek racing to a 6-0 6-0 victory in only 57 minutes.

A Wimbledon final has not been decided by such a scoreline since 1911. The only other instance at a grand slam came at the French Open in 1988.

Swiatek has become the first Polish winner of a Wimbledon singles title in the open era, 13 years after her compatriot Agnieszka Radwanska lost to Serena Williams in the final.

Anisimova's appearance marks a comeback to tennis, after the former teen prodigy stepped away from the sport for eight months in 2023 for mental health reasons.

From the offset, the American player struggled to get her legs moving and arms swinging freely, unable to find her first serve.

She twice screamed in frustration after mistakes in the opening game of the second set, and made 28 unforced errors in the 12 games.

Swiatek, who breezed to victory, has won all five of her previous slam finals. It took her just 25 minutes to wrap up the first set, with Anisimova winning only nine points.

Day 13 of Wimbeldon also saw British duo Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool make Wimbledon history by winning the men’s doubles title.

The pair are the first all-British pairing to win the title since Pat Hughes and Raymond Tuckey lifted the trophy in 1936.

On Sunday, Carlos Alcaraz will take on Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon 2025 Men's Singles Final.
