SAN ANTONIO SURS SET NEW NBA REGULAR-SEASON ATTENDANCE RECORD

 


San Antonio Surs set NBA attendance record but  with a heavy defeat from the Golden State Warriors.

68,323 is the NBA's new record for a regular-season game. The previous record of 62,046 was set in 1998 as fan gathered to watch Michael Jordan.


Spurs returned to the Alamodome for their 50th anniversary season.

Spurs Hall of Famer David Robinson announced the attendance after the third quarter. Robinson said,"Spursnfans have again set the standard for the league."


"Yeah it's pretty different," said San Antonio Surs' head coach, Gregg Popovic.

"It's a situation where you know... are they selling alcohol? I think that people will be fired up.


"It's just an exciting moment for everybody. It is nostalgic for everybody. To have that many people in one building, to be able to play in front of them, Is pretty danm exciting, actually. We hope it is a good game."
