Malawi's top striker of the late-70s, Kinah Phiri and reserve goalkeeper Dennis Saidi, displayed the East and Central Africa Challenge Cup to admiring home fans, during a lap of honor at the Kamuzu Sports Institute in 1979, after they retained the title with a dramatic comeback 3-2 extra-time victory over hosts, Kenya in the final.
