55 years ago at the Italian GP of 1970 the fearless and popular driver Gianclaudio “Clay” Regazzoni scored his first F1 victory, driving for Ferrari.
It was a bitter victory though, as one day before, in qualifying, the Austrian driver Jochen Rindt died in an accident - he will be declared posthumous world champion, the only time it has ever happened in the history of Formula 1.
