OPEL OLYMPIA CABRIOLET | THE ADVENTURES OF TIN TIN


The Ottokar sieve.

The Opel Olympia Cabriolet was the first car Hergé acquired. It began manufacturing in 1935. The body was made entirely of steel. The model's name originated from the upcoming 1936 Olympics in Germany.

This vehicle used by the bad guys in the album the Ottokar scepter was bought by Hergé in 1938 when he was 31 years old. It cost him 228,000 Belgian francs.
