NEYMAR WANTS TO LEAVE PSG

 

Having only just returned to action with Paris Saint-Germain after a four-month recovery from ankle ligament surgery, Neymar’s revival in the French capital may not be lasting long after all.

According to L’Équipe this evening the Brazilian international has gone as far as informing the Ligue 1 champions’ management that he wants to leave this summer.

On his return from PSG’s pre-season tour of Asia, the 31-year-old reportedly brought together his family and his agent, Pini Zahavi, with whom he decided that it was time to leave Ligue 1. The former Santos man is said to still be affected by the PSG ultras’ protest in front of his house back in the spring, and feels that PSG do not protect their players enough.

More than anything, Neymar wants to return to Barcelona – at the Catalans would not be against his return. He remains under contract for another four years at PSG and is on €30m per year – but is convinced that now is the time to leave. His announcement, only days after he was decidedly PSG’s standout player in the final match of pre-season, has inevitably not been to club president Nasser Al Khelaifi’s liking.
