French Formula 1 driver who has won two F1 titles with Ferrari in the 1980's has passed away at age 73.
He was suffering from long illness, his family said.
The Frenchman, Patrick Tambay, has had stints with McLaren, Ferrari and Renault, winning two Grand Prix.
He has had 114 starts in his career spanning from 1977 to 1986.
Tambay won his first title at Hockenheim in 1982 and another came after that at the iconic Imola.

Tambay was suffering from Parkinsons disease.
He was the top leading French driver ahead of other greats like Alain Prost, Rene Arnoux, Didier Pironi and Jacques Laffite.
